Research

De Castro is a Nesta (National Endowment for Science, Technology & the Arts) Dream Time Fellow and an Arts Foundation awardee. Her research is focusing on three perspectives: her work as a performer, her work as a teacher, and her work as a thinker. She is researching her own clowning methodology and investigating, with the help of leading theatre and clown practitioners and directors, the role and influence of clowning on contemporary theatre, leading up to a book on this subject. She is also developing her training and her performance projects, particularly Alleluia: the Clown Opera.
